Summer Summer Summer

Summer Summer Summer

It’s officially summer over here. Long, lazy days ahead, as they say.

For me, this season feels like the perfect time to pause and reassess. What does it really mean to be busy? What does it mean to step away? Is it possible to shift our rhythms so we don’t feel the constant pressure to be “on”? That’s my personal goal this summer, to explore what that might look like.

Lately, I’ve been noticing a real push and pull between hustle culture and setting firmer boundaries. Some people are declaring enough is enough. Life’s too short to spend it building someone else’s dream. Others are still deep in the grind, believing hustle is the only way to success.

Maybe there’s room for both. I’m not entirely sure. What I do know is this: I’m leaning toward the first camp. I want to do great work, contribute to a team I believe in, and lead with heart. But I’m no longer willing to sacrifice my health, time, or joy to keep up with an unrealistic pace.

So what will I be doing?

Putting my phone down more often.
Taking walks without it.
Not scrolling while in line at the grocery store.
Not reaching for it at every red light.

I want to read a book—all the way through. (It’s been a while!) I miss getting lost in a story and finishing it. I’m on the hunt for one that really pulls me in.

I also want to try something new. Maybe ceramics. Maybe gardening. Maybe finally learning how to swim properly.

Whatever it is, I want to sink my teeth into something that’s just for me.

What will you be doing?
