Just a Girl, Standing in a Staff Meeting, Wishing for a Hugo Spritz

Just a Girl, Standing in a Staff Meeting, Wishing for a Hugo Spritz

Summer can be a tough one in the corporate world. Whether it's the pull of the sunshine streaming in through your window, the spritz calling your name or the breeze of lying on a picnic blanket gazing at the trees.

That, my friend, is the power of the 30-second daydream.

A tiny act of joy in the middle of corporate monotony.

Here’s a few things I’d rather be doing than sitting through another calendar sync:

🍹 Sipping a spicy margarita on a porch that isn’t mine

🚶♀️ Walking aimlessly, phone on Do Not Disturb

🌱 Starting a new hobby I’ll abandon in 3 weeks

✈️ Fake booking a solo trip to Portugal

Your turn:

What’s your go-to mental escape during a soul-numbing Zoom?

Here’s your permission slip to space out. (I won't tell)

You’re not lazy. You’re keeping your soul alive.

and here's my favorite drink of the moment.

Recipe Break: Hugo Spritz – The Official Drink of Mentally Checking Out

Need a drink that tastes like PTO you haven’t taken yet? Meet the Hugo Spritz — fizzy, floral, and basically European Summer in a glass. Or what I call, Aperol Spritz's smooth talking cousin.

Ingredients:

3 oz Prosecco (or any dry sparkling wine)

2 oz elderflower liqueur (like St-Germain)

1 oz soda water or sparkling mineral water

Fresh mint leaves

Ice

Directions:

Fill a large wine glass with ice.

Add the elderflower liqueur and a generous handful of mint leaves.

Pour in the Prosecco and top with soda water.

Stir and Drink
